The Lost Lands
Origins of the Lost Lands Mythos
Adonai became aware that he was and that he was alone. Therefore he made the Light and the Dark and it became his wife Bretyll. He loved Bretyll and she him but they needed more and so Adonai created the world. And they found joy in it and so he created more… the skies and water, the rocks and trees and all else. From the spot known as the Nexus of Creation, he stood and made all. And all was good.
Then Adonai wanted to be known for he had made but had none but Bretyll to share it with, so taking his great sword Cynarion he cut his palm and allowed his blood to well. With a mighty clap of his hands he sprayed his blood across the lands and where the droplets fell to the dust, people arose. And the people knew that Adonai was their creator and were glad of it and worshipped him. And it was good.
Then some men began worshipping the Light of Bretyll and some the Dark. And as the strength of their worship grew it began to pull at the essence of Bretyll and soon it became too much. Insane with the conflict within herself, Bretyll went to the Nexus of Creation to undo all that had been done. To ease her pain she was willing to destroy all that Adonai had made even if it meant her own demise.
But Adonai knew of the truth of her pain and with one swing of his great sword Cynarion clove Bretyll into two parts. His sword, Cynarion, divided the Light and the Dark of Bretyll into proper aspects that could exist… Magda the Day Mother and Norn, Queen of the Night. To help them understand there place he gave them the moon to wax and wane and to show man that all was well.
